13-03-2020

The Sleep & Stress Management Survey of 26,000 consumers across the globe, indicates that the prevalence of sleep and stress-related problems is growing. According to FMCG Gurus who executed this survey, only half of global consumers are satisfied with their overall quality of life as a result of their sleeping habits.

As the recommended amount of sleep for adults is at least 7 hours per night1  and 25% consumers say they get less than five hours of sleep in a typical night, this is not surprising.

Worries and feelings of stress are the most important factors that keep consumers awake at night, also impacting their mental well-being. The link between mental well-being and good overall health is increasingly recognised by consumers. Moreover, consumers also recognise the impact of poor sleep on their overall health, next to the more obvious impacts on mood and happiness.

As a result, 55% of global consumers are interested in food, drink and supplement products that help them to improve their sleeping patterns. They are especially interested in products that support them to wake up feeling more refreshed and helps them to sleep longer. Curious about how FrieslandCampina Ingredients has been working on this?
