A nutritional base powder is the foundation infant and young child formula can be built on. Our versatile Essential® base powders and Vana-Sana™ nutritional oil powders provide most of the essential ingredients required to develop a final formula for infants and young children while offering convenience and flexibility for manufacturers.

A base powder is a mixture of milk proteins, an oil blend and carbohydrates, enriched with minerals and vitamins. The fat content in the base powder usually provides all the required fat of the final formulation. It only takes a simple dry-blending process to enhance base powder with added ingredients of your choice to produce a solution for your infant and young child formula.

We offer a range of Essential® base powders derived from fresh milk from our member dairy farmers, as well as nutritional oil powders in our Vana-Sana™ range, each targeted to meet the preferences of parents, infants and young children while ensuring a simple formulation process for brands.

The matrices used in our base powders are designed to fit the final application, effortlessly: they contain nutritious milk proteins, as well as lactose as a carbohydrate source.
